Licensed Catering Kitchen

Dragonwood now has a licensed catering kitchen. That changes the math for weddings, corporate retreats, and private dinners.

Commercial catering kitchen at Dragonwood, Parkman Maine

Something changed at Dragonwood in June 2024, and it matters for anyone planning an event here. Dragonwood now has a licensed catering kitchen.

That means wedding receptions with a real sit-down dinner. Corporate retreats where lunch is handled. Private dinners where the menu pulls from what's growing in the garden that week.

Before the license, event catering was a patchwork. Outside caterers hauling everything in. Food trucks parked on the lawn. It worked, but it wasn't what the team wanted for guests. Now the team coordinates full meal service on-site, from prep to plating.

The kitchen opens up farm-to-table in a way that was always the goal but never quite possible. Herbs from the garden beds. Tomatoes and greens from the raised beds. Apples from the orchard in October. The distance from garden to plate is about forty steps.

For couples looking at a wedding weekend, this changes the math. No outside kitchen rentals, no generator-powered warming trays in the pavilion. For corporate groups booking a full-day session, lunch just became one less thing to coordinate.
